Dad running 800x600 resolution for years!

ClownFace1511

So my dad has had this computer for many years now, ever since i was in primary school. So lets say its getting close to 8 years old, not sure exactly. It has a AMD cpu in it (ATI sticker...), a sata 1 hardrive and is running vista. I dont know the exact specs but its old. Anyway so he has this AOC monitor which he has been using since he bought the computer. When i was a younger child i used to use his computer for assignments and stuff but never touched it apart from that. Today my mum needed to print something and needed my help. I was in word helping her out then i went to the desktop. All the icons were so big and so i went into display settings only to find he was on a 800x600 resolution.

So after 7-8 years i never realised that the resolution was so screwed. Its like some 27-28" AOC monitor which can support 1920x1080 but was set to run 800x600. So thats my story. I changed the display to make it 1920x1080 and it looks very nice. My dad said it will take some getting used to, but seeming as he watches a lot of stuff on youtube im sure he will like the 1080p quality.

I had to share it with you guys cause i still cant believe it....

Maybe they set it up like that. My dad sometimes lowers the resolution just so the letters become bigger etc.
Good thing I showed him the magnifying glass tool! :D
