most terrible problem ever

So I got myself a new pc and was in the process of installing ubuntu to my old pc so that i could delete windows but keep a few files because i had no extra hard drives thing is ubuntu wasn't letting me do anything to the drive all i wanted to do was make a partition

i tried to go back to windows but only got a black screen tried to use the disk to refresh and it said the disk was locked

i then tried to use the command prompt from within the disk to rebuild but the EFI partition was gone tried to create it but it said the disk needed to be something else

i then reinstalled windows on my ssd which only has 128 gigs which is the one going into my new pc

windows installed and i tried to access the disk but now it has no drive letter

i tried to assign it in disk management but the option was greyed out and i notice windows still sees it i just can't assign a drive letter so that i can take the data out

i would just say forget it because i have back ups but the problem is my backups only have half of the data

i really need to access this data and would appreciate it if someone could assist me

 

sorry for all the bad punctuation im just so worried about this i just don't care about it

also i don't care that i am using IE im willing to suffer until tomorrow when my cpu arrives and my new pc is ready

This is not the most terrible problem ever. Some years ago I was testing a stack of systems and one had a power supply the blew up like a string of fire crackers and shocked the hell out of me when I plugged it in. Did this shock and burn you? Didn't think so. :P

you're beyond me...

I'll lurk and if anything comes to mind I'll holler. But this is just beyond my realm of knowledge right now....
