graphics card for developer

I am a young developer doing a few languages thinking about going into developing games and possibly graphic design. I am picking parts for a computer and am a little confused on  gpu's. I was wandering what kind of graphics processing power or gpu I would need for two monitors developing games.

Start off with i5 and 8GB of RAM. From there as you develop you will discover what parts you need yourself. Worked for me :) 

 

But I ended up with this for now.

 

i7 2600k

GTX 770

16GB RAM

 

Developing mainly in Unity. 3D Design in Maya and Cinema 4D.

At the moment I have the rest of the computer planned but I am having trouble with graphics. Also the scale at the moment my projects are small but I am planning to move up on the projects. 

Also, what programs are you using? Small isn't that descriptive. Include some details.
