CPU temp too high?

I have a AMD FX 6300 and I recently installed HWMonitor to see my temps in my PC. I noticed my CPU is 80 degrees celsius. I'm using the AMD stock CPU cooler that came with ther CPU. Is this temp too high. I'm not gaming at all, I'm just using the internet.

How clean is the CPU cooler overall? If it's dusty and/or it has been sitting there for a long time without any thermal paste replacing, I guess you could try removing the cooler, cleaning it and putting some new tasty thermal compound.

80°C is too high if you're not under a full load. It's higher than normal, but still acceptable if that is the hottest it ever gets, but if you're just browsing and get 80, then that's bad.

Air Flow , try to remove side panel and look at temps

 

also don't use anything but amd overdrive the only one that gave mt friend the right temps

80c When using the internet is waaaaay too high. Reapply thermal paste and reseat the cooler

The CPU is not dusty at all because Ive recently bought it, I might need to apply some more thermal paste

I have the same problem, well now we know amd stock coolers/thermal paste are the worst.

Stock cooler = Normal  

But check air flow. Taking my sidle pannel off i can reduce my temp by 10C+

Also try some other programs like speed fan to make sure hwmonitor is not giving you false readings. That never hurts to check

Are you sure you checked your cpu temp in HWmonitor under FX-6300 package temp?

 

The CPU/AUX/SYS-TIN temps in HWmonitor are absolutely bollocks and idiotic. My aux-tin temp is a constant 2 degrees. And cpu-tin was 170 degrees once.

hi have you got the CPU cooler mounted properly and does your case have good air flow also use the quote button other wise no one knows who you are talking to
