Just for the reference:

Ignore the AMD part and see the difference. Windows 8 is what Microsoft is the latest OS, so it would have longer support and probably better compatibility over time. You could also wait a couple weeks for Windows Blue (at least RTM version).

To answer your question in a complete fashion. Simply look at the new features of Windows 8 (the complete list), and then decide if you care about these features of not.

There is a performance increase in Win8, unlike what Samskip is saying. The OS is a bit more responsive, and most games show a bit of an increase in performance. Now, it's up to you to see if that performance increase is worth it as a point in your decision.

 

From what I am seeing, is as time passes, more and more people like Windows 8, and prefer it over Win7.

Up to you, I personally ended up much preferring 8 to 7 myself.

Most people will tell you 7 is better though.
