I dont believe this is normal??

Please be more patient, bumping often within only 10min will just annoy people and probably get you less help.

 

Did you try to go into the BIOS and look for any XMP settings? On your motherboard I think you'd click on AI Tweaker settings, then change the AI Overclock Tuner to the XMP profile.

Enable "Memory Remap" if it's listed in your BIOS.

Sorry for bumping the thread, but I wanted to make sure the OP sees this information.

 

In Windows, do the following:

  1. Press Windows key + R on the keyboard.
  2. Type “msconfig” without quotes and press Enter.
  3. Under Boot tab, click on Advanced options.
  4. Uncheck the option Maximum memory and click on OK.
  5. Click OK again and restart the computer.
  6. Check if it helps resolve the issue.

If that doesn't work, try running WIndows' Memory diagnostic tool. Information can be found at: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer

 

If that still doesn't work, I would check how you have the RAM populated in the motherboard. Checking the manual at: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketFM2/A88XM-PLUS/E8561_A88XM-PLUS.pdf

Make sure you have matching modules in the same channels.
