Freezing for 1 min at motherboard startup screen

Trollelicious
Go to solution Solved by TDP_Equinox,

take out the GPU, enable fast boot, put the gpu back in.

Hello!

So, a week or two ago I got my GTX 970 G1 Gaming to upgrade from my GT 640.

The installation went fine and everything but when I start up my computer it freezes at the motherboard loading screen or whatever you call it. It's a gigabyte board (Z77-D3H) if that matters. It's stuck here for 1 minute +-2 seconds and then continues like normally. I've timed it two or three times.

This never happened before I put my 970 in and I've got the latest drivers for the card so I really don't know what the problem is.

I'd be really greatful if anyone could tell me how I can fix this or at least give me some tips.

If you need any more information just ask me!

Thanks in advance! :)

Go in the BIOS and enable Fast boot

Oh I forgot to say that, while I'm stuck at that screen I can't get into the BIOS or startup menu. And I can't get into them before or after the frozen screen either.

Update:

I was about to do this

take out the GPU, enable fast boot, put the gpu back in.

But when I went into the BIOS to do it I couldn't find that option. My friend then said I should see if there was any new BIOS updates for my board and yeah, there was hehe. I updated them and went into the BIOS to check if I could enable fast boot and luckily I could :)

Now my computer is booting fast as normally :)

Thanks a lot for the help! :D
