Games for windows Live Update Stuck

So Dirt 3 told me I had to install a update for Games For Win Live however its not moving and its not even drawing any data. What should I do? I can't save progress if games for windows live isn't working.

Well your first mistake was using games for windows live. 

Its the only thing u can use for Dirt 3

I bought it through Steam. The framework of the game still runs through Games for Windows Live

Yeah, GFWL is pure crap. Try downloading the the latest GFWL client from the actual website first and installing it yourself, see if that helps.
