Hello again! I thought i had figured out all the parts I wanted, but i guess not :(. I've been looking into some 1440p monitors (had prev decided on a 1080p), and they are out of my price range. Someone then suggested looking into Korean monitors, and I decided to look into it. From what i can see, they have mainly positive reviews, with some minor dead pixel issues. I just dont know much about those monitors, and which one could be right for me. I dont want to spent more than 300$ - 350$ (i know its not much for 1440p). Should i risk getting a Korean monitor? Which one? Please help. thanks :)

I'd go for 1440p, or a nice 1080p ips monitor.

I hear the Korean 1440p monitors are really good. The ones like the X-Star are Samsung PLS panels, and people like @EcoBoost and Logan from Tek Syndicate have them and are very happy with them as far as I can tell.

Would you recommend any specific ones?

Thanks for the reply btw

I have two qnix monitors. They've been great for nearly one year both are still looking great and running strong.

This is dvi only..

And this I haven't noticed until just now.. it appears they're selling a new and improved version.. I don't know anything about this monitor but I wonder could this be a 10 bit panel? It seem like it has more features than their older multiport version..

Seems worth looking into. Maybe there's some reviews somewhere..

I use a Korean monitor for gaming, the (Crossover 27QW 27" 1440p IPS monitor, 5ms) it is definitely a beautiful monitor, when i put it beside my 1440p imac at work i couldn't tell the difference picture quality wise.  As for gaming i have never noticed ghosting or lag on it, 5ms isn't slow by any means, i love this monitor so much i will most likely have it for another 3+ years, that's how much i would recommend it.  The only thing i don't like is the almost inch and a half bezel just like the imacs lol.

you can buy it for $300 on ebay,

$320 for a pixel perfect version so an extra $20 for no risk,

and $360 for a version with Displayport.

I would say get the display-port version, that way you can hook a laptop up to it if you ever need to or anything else that uses display-port, the dual-like dvi port on the $300 version isn't bad but not many motherboards have it so whatever you hook up to the monitor will probably have to have a dedicated gpu with one.

i have used may 144hz 1080p monitors for gaming and they really do look smoother when you can constantly maintain over 100fps, but i prefer the 1440p ips over them, the image quality is really just that much better than a TN panel, but if you do decide to buy a 1080p monitor for gaming i would say at least make sure it is 144hz, as you can find them on amazon nowadays for $240, especially with black Friday and cyber Monday 3 weeks away, maybe even lower then.

I am using Acer K272HUL bmiidp 27-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) Widescreen Display it is an ISP screen has 6ms GtG which I have no issue playing Star Citizen, War Thunder, World of Tank, WoW, or Civ 5 and Civ Beyond Earth on. The screen color is great but I still adjusted using a Sypder for best color.

It is currently 329.99 at amazon and comes with a Warranty not sure if the Korean ones do.

Yeah its Amazon Supply and Demand Live Pricing as the product gets orders and inventory goes down they have an automated pricing adjustment on site. Its awesome for them to do short quick sales but it also means its a moving target when the sales occur and when they end.

well, I have the have the older multi-input qnix. It's been okay. It's really not that crappy for what I paid. I gave that one to my parents and they have an easier time seeing text on the large high-res screen. I have read that the newer true 10 multi-input can't be overclocked despite claims from qnix that it can..
