So my Official Microsoft gaming receiver windows adapter thingie gave out on me when I moved house for no reason, I tried to repair it but it didn't work :-(

However, I'm trying to buy a new one but there are only counterfeit versions all over the place.

Does anyone use a counterfeit adapter and do you notice any negligible effects it has on performance - in terms of latency, range, random dropouts etc.

I really like my controller. It makes it so easy to play games with steering.

Cheers, Steve.

i have 2 of them installing them isnt as simple as the official ones , but once you know how to do it (basicly instal the drivers from windows manually) they are fine, iv had no problems with mine had them for just over a year =)

Edit: i also have an offical one and the only difference i can tell is the driver thing i mentioned and the build quality is a little worse on them (obviously) apart from that they are great i got mine from ebay =)

OP hearing your story I am glad I went wired.

Yeah I wish I did. I never liked wired controllers on Xbox so when I moved to PC, I just used what I had. I don't have a ton of money to buy a new controller for no reason. I think I might go wired though. I'm considering it because my current controllers are broken anyway.

i have one and it works exacly like the original one. you just have to install it manually like muffinmaddness said . i used an original one for ~3 weeks(borrowed) until mine arrived and didn`t see no difference

I don't have a CD drive on my PC. Do you know if they drivers are available online anywhere else? I know these chinese/singaporean/etc. websites are generally terrible for drivers.

I was about to say, "cant you just use a wired one?"

you don`t need them. when the 'found new hardware' pops up you click it and do it manually.browse my computer for driver-let me pick from a list and find the xbox 360 driver

I just use the official wireless dongle. I love wireless controllers. I could never use the wired ones. Too much of a clutter on my desk with all those wires.
