Normally this is something I wouldn't need help with. I think I've become well versed in QuickSync. But which freaking driver do I use?!

Using an i7-3632QM.

Error it gives me for every single driver I try. (essentially this isn't the right hardware)

But it DOES have QuickSync support and I've tried several drivers that should work for it.

Agh, which one do I use?

If the manufacturer of the laptop has the Intel drivers on the site, use those. Or try to go to Windows Update and get them from there.

AMD, shouldn't matter though.

Well nvidia had a feature that actually turns the IGP etc off if I'm not mistaken. If you go to device manager, under video card adapters do you see HD graphics being listed there?

Try this driver (it's the latest); https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24329

It doesn't. :( I hope this thing has a BIOS I can access.

Assuming that driver you linked IS the same as the one I tried earlier (it has the ....(1) in the name) then it won't work.

Install GPU-z and check if it detects the IGP. If not it's disabled in the bios then.
