I have a new build coming up but I have one issue. I need to use it in another room on much slower laptop PC. Is there an easy way to efficiently edit on another machine via screen share, remote software etc? Everything will be done via power-line so should be no issues with lag/throughput.

Logging into separate account eg. Premiere Pro CC does not work in my situation. I need files and software to be on one PC but remotely use it all on same property in another room.

Please consider I might go for something as slow as current Celeron offering for accessing remotely. Editing machine will be i7, GTX 970, 16GB RAM etc. Reasonably fast.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

If you have Windows 7 Pro or higher (or Windows 8/8.1 Pro or higher) on your editing machine, you can remote desktop in from your Celeron machine and use the more powerful rig as if you were sitting in front of it. Of course there will be some minor stuttering, but over a power line network, the trouble should be minimal.

The only problem is that you'll lose all GPU acceleration if you use remote desktop. One workaround that I tend to use is to open the GPU accelerated program on the server machine locally (ie, open Premiere on your editing rig using its keyboard and mouse), then go over to the remote machine and just connect to the existing logged in session.
