So people, I need to buy a new mouse, my deathadder is having problems with the left click and it's making me a little bit fucking annoyed. It's not something I'll change tomorrow but I already want to think about it.

I'd like to know if you guys could recommend me a good mouse for 3D modeling and gaming. I'm right handed, palm grip and like the comfort of the deathadder a lot. But I'd sacrifice the comfort a little bit if I can get something that will improve my productivity.

It needs to be a durable mouse, I'm going to buy it out of the country since stuff here is too expensive, so for now I don't have a fixed budget, I just want to know the options out there.

Thanks for the help.

Best quote ever.... On topic now, Have you checked out the productivity specific mice? They have like laser pointers that control the monitor like a Wii remote (You would need a bar that you attach to you desk area somewhere) unlike WII remote they do not need a direct line of sight though.  almost and work as a super high accuracy mouse when on a standard table surface. I wish I could think of the name... My dad uses one for engineering and CAD programs.

Have you tried raising the mouse's dpi? One of the easiest ways to increase productivity it to simply increase the speed of the cursor.

I use G600.

The thumb buttons are simply mapped as NUMPAD and when using G-shift, as CTRL-NUMPAD so I can access all the views. On the top you can have profile switching, and DPI-cycling that I use for dropping DPI from ~3K to around 200 so that I can precise movements. Then you still have some extra stuff with the tilting mouse wheel for previous / next. That's for Blender though, other software might not have the same approach to hotkeys and stuff. All settings, unless you want macros, can be stored in the mouse so you don't need to use the software after setting things up.

For gaming, it's... well I don't use it to be honest. I tried it and it just didn't feel like the mouse I would use in the games I play. In MMOs I could, and probably would, but I don't play those.

For modeling it's simply too good though, if I were you I'd get the G600 and if you don't like it in games, you can get a mouse that might not have very good features but are lightweight and track very well with your run-of-the-mill optical sensor. Even if you don't like the G600 too much in gaming, I'd say you're going to love it when it comes to modeling.

There are some knock-offs like pendragon perdition but as far as I'm concerned, Logitech just has superior software options and warranty. I bought my G600 early, and it was one of the first ones to use the sensor it did. There were some issues that were fixable with a firmware update, but they didn't have the ability to upgrade the firmware through USB in the first batch of their mice - so all they wanted was a proof of purchase (picture of the mouse and the code in the cable) and they sent me a new mouse free of charge. Now I have two of them, though the other has the "issue". It tracks a bit slower that isn't really a problem in modeling tbh but was somewhat noticeable in games.

@WoodenMarker: It's not the DPI, I actually didn't have any problems with the deathadder, liked it a lot. But since it's failing on me, and i'll change it, I want to go a step further from what I have now

@brokencross: These are too simple, they even may be a little bit simpler than the deathadder. No problem with them for normal use, but I want something that can provide me an extra for 3d modeling.

@Totalschaden1997 @Zulkkis: Both of these seem pretty nice. the Logitech has a lot more of buttons and I feel like it would be better for modeling, and the Func is a tad better than my last option and seem to be comfortable. Both seem like a good start point to me :)

I need to find out how this will work, because depending on the price of them I may not be able to buy 2 mice, and having only one will be a lot more convenient. I'll try and see if I can test these mice, it will surely help a lot.

@: I think I know what you're talking about. In the place I work one of the machines had a very different mouse and another peripheral made just for 3D manipulation. It's a shame they got rid of the mouse because it broke, I didn't check its name, but ill try to see if I find something about this. Hope this kind of stuff wont cost my soul but I fear it will haha.

I believe my dad payed $150 USD for all of what was needed.

I meant that raising the dpi was a good way to increase productivity since you asked.
