HyperX Cloud VS. Razer Carcharias

Forece
Go to solution Solved by Titanicium,

The mic on the HyperX Clouds sounds like someone is trying to watch 4K youtube on a 2 Mb connection, but the sound quality rocks anything Razer has ever been able to make when it comes to sound. I have no idea about the mic on Carcharias, but I don't imagine it's great and the sound quality is definitely not so HyperX Cloud for the win :)

Hello everyone!

It's getting close to Christmas (Although Halloween just ended a few days ago), I am thinking of getting a new pair of headset for myself to replace my Sennheiser PX200-II (I mean the sound quality is okay, but it's very very old). The reason why I'm not getting a pair of headphones is I want to be able to talk to my friends over Skype and occasionally do some videos. I don't have the money to buy a Blue Yeti or AT2020. So right now I have these 2 pair of headphones in mind: Cloud and Carcharias. I've heard ALOT of good reviews on the Cloud, which include some of you guys, some of my friends, and yes, Linus. Carcharias is also one of my choices, that's because there is this YouTuber called TBNRfrags (Preston), and he uses this headset. The sound quality is pretty good, and it also has a good value. Right now I just can't make the decision so I need some help from you guys. I am mainly looking for the comfort, sound quality, and the mic quality. Share your opinions on which one is better and reasons why. :D

Thank you!

Maybe Kingston should sell an aftermarket Cloud mic to replace the stock one? Seeing how the stock one is removable. That would be nifty, a headset mic upgrade?!  :)

My vote goes to the HX Cloud, I can't comment about the mic since I use the HX Cloud purely as a pair of cans, but for gaming, movies and music, it does its job admirably well. As for Razer Charcharias , I can't say but if it has that Razer signature sound, best to avoid it. I have a Razer Black Shark and the only thing I can say about that headset is.....BASS! And nothing but BASS!

Headphone built by a real audio company, headphone built by Razer. (I don't have enough faith in humanity to say the choice is easy)

@Titanicium

Thank you for replying, I guess HyperX Cloud is the way to go according to you guys! But the mic on the Cloud isn't that good, right? In case you are wondering how does the Carcharias sound, you can go to his channel: www.youtube.com/prestonplayz
