There are a tonne of cost effective & well expensive LGA 1150 Z97/H97/81 motherboards out currently that could potentially suit your needs. Just have a wider look & you'll find something worth buying. BTW return the motherboard & save your money.

Is this a cheap gaming rig?  Have you considered getting an AMD APU based system.

AMD A10-6790K Richland Quad Core Socket FM2 4.3GHZ 100W APU Retail Box

ASRock FM2A88X+ BTC ATX FM2+ 4XDDR3 2400+ 1XPCIE3.0X16 1XPCIE2.0X16 3XPCIE2.0X1 2XPCI Motherboard

Kingston HyperX Fury Memory Black 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1866 CL10 Dual Channel Memory Kit

The advantage of this are:

  • It can be overclocked to get more performance
  • Can play some games even at 1080p.
  • Versatile, you can add a descrete GPU later and take advantage of hybrid corssfire in the future.

GAMINGCLICHE: Core i5 6500 - Gigabyte H170N-WiFi - Deepcool Gabriel - 16GB HyperX Fury - Asus Strix GTX 1070 OC - NZXT Manta

ORANGEJULIUS-720p: Core i3-3230 - Noctua 9UB-SE2 - Gigabyte B75N-itx - 8gb GSkill Ares - GTX 650Ti - Bitfenix Prodigy (RETIRED)
