Mcafee and Malwarebytes?

rafalpl1

Hi guys,

I have this anti-virus program, McAfee, I've heard that people are generally not happy with it. I'm also not too pleased with the way it works. I use it because I got it for free. It scans so slowly. I also had it on my old PC and I thought that's because of the bad hardware, but last year I bought a high-end rig and it still runs like shit. It also doesn't protect my system too well. 2 weeks ago I had an Interpol virus, which I easily managed to remove by rebooting system and installing Malwarebytes.

That's when I interested in buying this sofware. I know that anti-virus programs don't work too well together. However, as far as I'm concerned Malwarebytes focuses on slightly different risk than Mcafee, so that's where my question comes. Will Malwarebytes work well together with Mcafee or  will I have to disable, for example real time scanning in Mcafee or something like this, so that they don't interrupt each other?

Malwarebytes will replace McAfee. Just uninstall that crapware and load Malwarebytes, or Avast. Whichever is your flavor.

I'd recommend uninstalling McAfee in any case--it's not that useful.

Oh, I just reminded myself one thing. Last year, together with my motherboard Asus Maximus Vi Hero, I got one-year license for Kaspersky anti-virus. So, as you guys say, I can remove Mcafee and Malwarebytes will bascially replace it. Kaspersky is quite good, at least that what I've heard, so some more protection from this software would be good for the pc, wouldn't it?

I think I got a CD with it. I have it lying around with empty boxes on my attic. So before I go for it, I would like to know whether it could be possible to run Malwarebytes and Kaspersky, in terms of compability

snip

Use Avast instead of Mcafee and just occassionally run Malwarebytes to run check ups is usually what I reccomend oh and this nice anti virus program that detects lots and lots of viruses before you even get them AD-Block but if that doesn't tickle your fancy install commonsense.exe you get it from this thing called a gene pool

Avast has a good reputation and so does MalwareBytes. I think Mcafee is a POS. Really if you have your PC setup properly and use common sense you should rarely ever need to run Anti Virus and Anti Malware software.
