R7 260x or Gtx 750 ti

martheus25
Go to solution Solved by I/O,

Is it worth it if the 270x is twice the price of 260x?

Ill be working next year and thats when ill buy a more expensive card. :D

I would say be happy with the 260x and when your finances permit get the best card you can afford comfortably as the 260x will be a half decent filler card until that time.

Been asking for different opinion on GPU and now I'm going to buy a GPU and the max I can get is the

Zotac GTX 750ti non OC (the single fan one that)

or

Sapphire r7 260x non oc or oc (single fan also)

Ill be also upgrading late next year.

Edit: the r7 260x is a bit cheaper even the oc version is cheaper.

Maxwell is a great architecture, powerful and power-efficient.

Okay thanks guys. Will there be a big difference if I buy the 2 fan design of the 750 ti that also has a 6 pin power connector? The Zotac 750 ti OC?

260x is the same or better overall performance and it costs less than 750ti. Only reasons to get 750ti is if an nvidiot or have an OEM PC with capitalistic PSU.

If it's in your price range, you should consider getting an R9 270 or 270x from ebay for about $100-$120. That's where I got both of mine and one for my friend, and they're all working flawlessly.

It's not really advised to buy higher-end AMD cards used, but no one uses 270's for mining, so it's usually totally fine. Just stay away from "refurbished" ones.

My (first) build: i7 4790k | Noctua NH-U14S + NF-A15 | Gigabyte Z97X-SLI | G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x4GB 2133MHz CL9 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB | Seagate 2TB SSHD | 2x MSI R9 270X TwinFrozr crossfire | Seasonic G Series 750W 80+ Gold | Asus VX238H 23" | GAMDIAS HERMES | Logitech G602 | Steelseries QcK | Windows 8.1

Im from Philippines and if I buy an r9 270x from ebay plus shipping the cost will be like buying a new r9 280. Haha. Thanks for replying btw. How about 260x or 750 ti?

Ah sorry! Stupid of me to not take that into consideration!

Yeah I'd agree with the thread and go for the 750 Ti. Also, if it matters to you, not all of them have DisplayPort, so make sure to get one if you want to be able to use G-Sync!

I don't agree with going for the 750ti based on the fact that the 260x is just as fast overall if not faster, costs less and also comes with a couple of free games. 750ti is priced a bit to high to recommend over R7 260x.

260X would be better but push for a gigabyte r9 270x if your budget has some growing room go for a gigabyte r9 290
