Audio Technica AG1

A99

What does LTT think about the AG1? I know they are expensive and may not have the best sound for that price but when you consider you are getting probably the best quality mic on a headset does that make the purchase worth it?

They are ok, the only real headset the competes with is the sennheiser G4ME one. Personally I would get headphones and a modmic or blue snowball, but this headset really isn't bad.

Sure, the mic is good, but when you consider the price of the headphones they're based off (ATH-AD700X and A700X most likely), you're talking about $150 for an integrated mic and a fancy paint job. That's also leaving out the fact that the 500X sounds pretty much the same for $50 less.

I'd say no, it's not worth it.

Not worth it, if you think about it, you can get a 1000x for the price of an AG1, you might as well at that point get a 900x and a good desktop mic, and AT knows very well how to make desktop mics.
