QcK Mousepad Scratch Lines

I have a SteelSeries QcK Mass Mousepad which has been awesome for the past few months. The only problem is that wherever I scratch the mousepad tan marks are left behind which are hard to remove. I have two quesitons:

 

Has anyone experienced this?

 

Has anyone removed these marks?

Cut your finger nails? I've never had this problem.

Nvm guys, if I rub the mousepad a ton with my sleeve the marks become much less noticeable.
