We've heard of this news now from many people even NCIX, This is holding me back from buying a STRIX 970.

I will be starting with my current 1080p monitor and I'll get a higher res one in the future. I would love to have 8GB of memory and I will get really mad if a 8GB 970 comes out after I buy a 4GB one, and is not that much more expensive.

I was wondering if the current 256Bit bus can even move almost 8GB of data at a reasonable speed.

And when do you guys think this will come out? NCIX and others said late-November to December, But what do you guys think?

We've also seen news that nvidia board partners will not be making 8gb cards.

I think you should get a 970 4gb right now. :)

8 gigabytes will not help that much.

I've decided to hold back till the 8GB cards come and then decide, If the 8GB ones are good I'll get those.

I want to get all the info I can on them right now

I am in a hurry but I'll just use the onboard Intel HD 4600 until these cards come out, I'm sure the wait will pay off

Buy a four gig card, eight is a giant marketing scheme designed to lure dumb people into spending extra money.

One, even two 970 are not fast enough to keep up with that kind of vram usage.

But will the 8GB cards not be made by non-refrence makers?

I think we will see 8GB VRam soon, but its not like a must have, it will be probably a bit higher price but not to high, and for people who use multiple display's and uses various photo and video editing programs that require a lot of vram, but for gaming? nah friend has MSI GTX 770 2gb and plays every single game on max without any problems, ofcourse he doesnt film his gameplays or something. So imo if u just gaming, watching movies, listening for some music 2gb is still more than enough. BUT i would like to mention that when i had GTX 760 with 4gb vram it really helped me mod skyrim with various graphical mods like waters, enb's,textures that gave me a bit more benefit from more vram.

Dont see 970 with 8gb make anything different. 4k triple surrond use 5-6gbvram in 4 titans.

Any panel under that is pointless,

By the time games start using 6gb at a 1440panel, a 970 probbably outdated in architecture.

I'm saving up money anyway, after I build my system I'll wait til the 8gb comes out to see how much more expensive it is

are you upgrading to 4k and then adding another card in the future? i could see use for it then, but with the memory bus there might be little point to get a 8gb card still if developers make it a situation in the future where if you do not have 6+ gb of vram like the last call of duty for 6gb of ram did it could be useful.
