I was moving my laptop(I'll post more info about my laptop below) into anther room and dropped(more flopped than dropped) from a small distance onto a table by mistake. It was working fine for about a week, but when my girlfriend was playing WoW the screen went black and a weird red-pixelish-space-invaders pattern showed up and then it restarted. After the Windows loading screen, the red pixelish stuff again. It continued like this a few times until I logged into Windows using safe mode. I posted a video to youtube of this happening(video below).

I reformatted my HD and re-installed Windows 7 Home Premium, and when I was installing the graphics drivers, the screen went black halfway through the installation the red pixels showed up again and then restarted again.  To see if this happened because of the graphics driver, I re-re-installed Windows and installed the graphics driver again, same thing happened. the next time I re-re-re-installed, windows did an auto update thing and when I checked on it, it was installing the graphics drivers and the screen went black again.

The HP website says my computer is a HP ENVY 14t-1200 CTO

HP customer support was awful, and wasn't any help. They wouldn't even talk to me about my problem without me buying a year long subscription to their technical support program for some god awful amount of money.

If anyone could help me figure out what is happening to my computer or even point me in the right direction, I would be extremely grateful!

If you need more information, please feel free to ask. (:

Edit: the red pixels show up around the 2 minute mark on the video.

All Google can find is "GPU ISSUES" http://superuser.com/questions/415993/why-am-i-seeing-red-dots-on-my-lcd-screen

Honestly, that's all that would come to mind. Might be time to send it back to HP to get it fixed. Do you have a warranty on the thing?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

My warranty expired about 1.5 years ago.  And I don't think I have the same issue as the guy in the link you provided.  I am using the computer right now, with out any graphics drivers installed, and it is working fine. No red dots or abnormal colors.  Could it be a hard drive or ram issue?
