Please, for the love of all of us use PCPartPicker whenever you do this sorta thing.

Also, for your build, I suggest saving a bit of money and going 4790k. Unless you edit videos all the time or do other tasks that are super heavy, the 4790k will be more than enough for years to come.

Otherwise not a bad setup.

EDIT: Just saw you do 3D rendering. That CPU will probably be better than the 4790k for your budget then.

So I suppose there's not much I can improve on then :)

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I'd suggest going for a Zotac or Windforce 980, I know there has been a fair bit of trouble with coil whine in the Strix.

I chose the Strix cuz the colors suited the build more than the Windforce 980

If you are looking for red and black I highly recommend this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-gtx980gaming4g

Mainly for gaming but also some 3d editing

Gaming performance is better with an i7-4790K. Unless a fair bit of 3D rendering is being done the i7-4790K performance will not be noticeably worse than the i7-5820K.
