Is the msi gaming 5 designed and ready for the 4790k

yeah it should work without bios update since its z97

So I was watching jayz two cents 4790k video and he said that his z87 motherboard booted at 1.5v on his cpu I am getting the msi gaming 5 will that happen with me and will it even post

I don't really see why you need that much voltage.

Desktop: i7-4790k, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Seagate Barracuda 3TB, 2xR9 290 Vapor-X's (1 working atm), Asus Z97-Pro, NZXT H440 White, 16GB G. Skill Sniper RAM, NZXT HALE V90 850W.

Laptop: Samsung Chromebook 11.6" 

Phone: 8GB Galaxy S4

No his z87 board wasn't ready for the 4790k and fucked his chip up

Why wouldn't it? If it doesn't you probably can contact customer support and have them give you a new board with a bios update.

Did he bother to check the BIOS? or did it not even make it into the BIOS? A video link would be helpful :huh:
