First Time Builder Needing Help!

Any thoughts from someone would be great appreciated! This is just a starter it will be a ongoing project as I in the FAR future would like to be able to get this system (maybe bigger case if needed eventually) to a 4k gaming rig, or whatever is the "4k" of that time is.

What should i change or does it look like a good pc?

you don't need an h100i for an 860k and what is your max budget i can put something better together for you

around 800$ Canadian, this is where i can screwed over a lot i feel like

The h100i is WAY overkill. Also, the r9 290 is only around $250 USD right now, so with the $100 from the h100i, you could get an i5-4460 with h97 chipset board (no aftermarket cooler needed) and an R9 290 and be way better off.

Yay my noob brain went to work here , thanks for all the tips! Question, you guys said that the h100i is not needed for 860k, but would it be useful if i were to overclock the cpu?

How far into the future when you will get this system? If it's really far into the fture, then by that time comes all the parts you pick now will be obsolete. Save up and buy all of your parts at once and not in bits.

overclocking the cpu wont provide much benefit vs getting a r9 290 and i dont think athlons get that hot so maybe the stock cooler will be fine. if not then a cooler master 212 evo
