upgrading to a better pc

Im wanting to use as much as the old parts as possible for the next upgrade as I can. Can I use the same cpu, the first 8-core intel chip, and still get the i7 status?

I wish I could get the specss. The power supply failed a few weeks ago. Have a sapphire Radeon 6950, i think. This is the specs I had posted somewhere else.
