Hello,

My Computer:

Dell XPS 13 laptop 9333

Windows 8.1 64bit

Intel Core i7-4650U x64

Sound: Realtek High Definition Audio

Driver version: 6.0.1.7095

Ever since I got it in January 2014, this laptop has had a persistent audio problem.

During extreme audio signals (like gunshots and electronic music) there is a

sound that is like 'squeaky static' , like a complex series of high pitch tones

and scratchy static sound.

This sound is heard either through the built in speakers or the 3.5mm port.

So far, I have re-installed the audio driver several times, updated the BIOS driver,

then I had the entire motherboard+processor replaced by Dell, and then I factory reset the laptop

and then re-installed the audio driver again.

Still the problem persists.

Strangely enough, whenever I re-install the audio driver, the problem temporarily

goes away, then returns later.

I just can't imagine what on earth is going on and what is actually causing this.

The only important thing not replaced was the SSD storage.

I have been talking to Dell a lot and they have no idea why this is happening.

Please halp

thanks

Control Panel - Search - Troubleshooting - Hardware and Sound - Playing Audio.

This seems to magically solve ALL the audio issues for me.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
