Here is the issue, whenever I try to turn on my computer it never turns on at first. Usually I have to turn the power on and off, flip the plugs around and hope for a miracle that it turns on. My friend helped me build my computer a year ago, it has been going on since then. We thought the problem would be the wiring to the power button itself. So we ordered a new wire, soldering it in. That however did not fix the problem. It still only turns on half the time. I also originally before trying to fix the wire, replaced the case and we moved all the components into the new case. That did not fix the problem either. My friend suggested that it might be either a faulty motherboard or power supply. However I would love to have a good educated opinion so that I could just buy the one part the first time. At least I hope it is not a bigger problem.. Also I have checked in multiple houses and multiple differing outlets to see if it was a problem with the outlet itself, that turned out to be false. I have also replaced the surge protector as well. Oh and I have never overclocked my computer, not sure if that is prevalent or not. I went to the Asus Sabertooth Z77 Website. I have previously gone there to update the BIOS to the latest version. But I also updated for the first time the chipset. Which seems to have solved the problem. I have turned my computer off about ten times now. And it now turns on the first time I hit the power button. That is odd that it fixed it, but I am glad it did. At least it worked until my power went off and I had to try to turn in on from there. Luckily I have a beat surge protector. So no damage was done to the parts.

My computer started doing the same thing again so I replaced the motherboard, it still would not work. So I replaced the power supply, and it still did not work. Then put the old motherboard in with the new power supply, nothing lol. I can not think of anything else it could possibly be. Also every time I restart of shut off my computer the bar on the side you use to scroll for web browsing goes really fast, and other times it is normal. It is odd lol. Also my keyboard is a Corsair K70 Vengeance. It has 2 plugs one for the keyboard and one for the usb behind the keyboard. Most of the time when I would boot up my computer. The keyboard would blink and freeze along with the mouse. Ever since I started just plugging the one cord in for the keyboard only it never really happens anymore, but will ever now and then, not sure if that information was prevalent or not lol. UPDATE: Fixed the keyboard and mouse freezing issue, turned out I had the wrong keyboard driver installed that was messing up with the boot up the actual keyboard.

Having a computer that is so fantastic for my needs, but only turns on half the time. And usually always put it in sleep mode when I am gone instead of turning it off is annoying to say the least. Especially since I love cleaning out my case every month. Also the pictures I sent you. One of being the inside of the case. The two blue screens happen on occasion but it is very rare.

Things Done So Far That I Can Remember:

Tried Replacing Motherboard

Tried Replacing RAM

Tried Replacing CPU

Tried Replacing Power Supply

Changed Out Power Supply Cable

Tried Resetting CMOS Setting/ Bios

Replaced Entire Computer Case

Replaced Power Button Wire

Tried Different Outlets In House and Friend's Houses.

When replacing the RAM it still did not turn on, after moving the RAM around eventually it would turn on with one RAM, then it would only turn on with the one. However after that we were able to put all 4 back in and it started booting up again, did a mem test and everything came back fine. Took it back upstairs to my room it would not turn on. After not successfully turning it on a plethora of times we tried replacing the power supply cord to the power supply itself. After doing that it turned on right after. And once turning it off and attempting to turn it on again it worked the first time. So I assumed the issue was solved. However a week ago I turned everything off. Opened the case to clean it. And after attempting to boot it back up it would not. The only factor that changed was that I also turned off the power supply button on the back. So I assumed that it was an issue with the power supply itself, but the new cord helped get power started to it more frequently. But upon turning it off this morning and trying to turn it on again. With the same circumstances as before everything off expect the power supply in the back it still would not turn on at first. And I had to fiddle with it to get it to turn on. So now I have no idea what it could be I do not know if this would be. I am writing this as a reference guide to the problem and to give you an update if you had an recommendations on what to do. I am not sure If it could be a faulty wire somewhere inside the computer case itself. It is not a loose wire because I have checked all of that before.

Any ideas would be extremely helpful. Thank you for your time

Oh my, the copy-pasta is extreme...

...right, night-theme users?

Haha yeah sorry about that just a collection of all the information I have gathered. Did not realize it was so obvious. :P

This sounds like hell.....

Tried replacing HDD/SSD/OS on whichever?

It is, I have had 2 of my friends in the IT industry look at my notes. And they have both told me after 20 years they have never seen anything like it. And The HDD and OS have not been replaced. Everything else pretty much has been, expect the video card. I still have the original OS disk. Are you suggesting to buy a new one, or simply re-install it? Do you think the problem would be with an error with the disk contents itself. Or an odd installation problem? I apologize for the overwhelming large loads of texts. I was just trying to provide as the important information.

if it doesnt turn on at all then the os should not be an issue the ssd/hdd could be if it was shorting out or something but this is indeed a real tough one but i would recommend not using the dedicated gpu and just using onboard gpu for a week becaus like you said thats one of the things that you have not yet replaced

I suggest you re-install Windows completely from the ground up. Back up anything important in the most to Google Drive/Dropbox. There shouldn't have been an OS installation issue as Windows won't even install itself without all the contents of the .iso and the contents have to be in perfect condition too. Full re-install will hopefully fix whatever you've got issues with.

Maybe also try a different drive, whether that be a  new hard drive or SSD. If the re-install of the OS doesn't work, your hard drive could possibly be having issues (?)

Dunno man. You've got one hell of a pickle to get out of.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I saw this little tidbit buried in the center of the post. You fixed it then?

Ok I will try that thanks.

Yeah it is quite annoying usually pc problems are easy to pinpoint and fix, but this one has been anything but lol. I will try those solutions as well.

For awhile it would turn on after installing that, then after a couple days it just went back to doing the same thing :/
