Hi can you please help me I want to upgrade my Pc from i7 3770K . I have already bought  i7 4790K and H1001 liquid cooler. What's the best motherboard with Wifi I can go for since my router is downstairs. I would have opted for Maximus Vll Hero with the good feedback review, but it doesn't come with Wifi. At the same time the Maximus Formula VII is the only option but it's a bit pricey of which I would not mind spending if I benefit the out of it...The other option will be Asus Z97 Pro wifi not sure how good it is.

I'm looking for something that can give the best performance in terms of Ocing.

CURRENT PC Specs:

i7-3770K CPU (OC) 4.5GHz quad core (4 Cores)

ASUS EVGA GTX 780  3.0GB

2x8 Gb 1600Mhz Vengeance DDR RAM

750 W Sesonic PLATINUM 80 Plus PSU

P8Z77-V PRO Mobo

Fractal Design DEFINE R4 Case

Thank you

Best Regards

Lloyd

I would suggest getting a refund on the i7 4790k if you can. As mentioned above, you won't really see much performance gain over what you already have. You could keep the H100i if you don't already have a good cooler.

Thanks for the response guys I really appreciate,so what would you recommend as a good processor upgrade above i7 4790k? Mainly I use Pc for Flight Simulator X and currently that's what most people are using. I'm very open to any suggestions that would help me achieve a good pc with optimum stable performance.

Thanks

The only upgrade above a 3770K/4790K would be something like a Haswell-E 6 core cpu i7 5820K/5930K or if you have deep pockets the 5960X 8 core which are all on Socket 2011-3.

If your current i7 3770K handles it fine though, you won't see much difference with the i7 4790K.

Hi Lee32uk

Thanks for your response and support, well I've had a look on the new processors the i7 5820k/5930k and 5960X 2011-3 sockets wow they look amazing and I'm sure they are pretty extreme fast but hey the price its really high.I know it will be a good pc upgrade and once done you don't have look back and worry no more about upgrading for a quite a while, apparently my pocket wont let me stretch that far for i7 5960x , May be I'll end going for the i7 5930k that would mean adding another £180.00 ontop of i7 4790k.

My current i7 3770k is ok but just wanted to give it a bit more boost. If I fail to raise the cash will end with i7 4790k. So in you opinion what's the Mobo  with Wifi I can go for since my router is downstairs. I would have opted for Maximus Vll Hero with the good feedback review, but it doesn't come with Wifi. At the same time the Maximus Formula VII is the only option but it's a bit pricey of which I would not mind spending if I benefit the out of it.

Cheers...!!!

If you are set on Z97 then the MSI gaming 9 AC has built in wifi. It should be about £50 less than the Asus Maximus Formula.

If you don't mind a non red/black board, then there is the cheaper Asus Z97 Pro Wifi-AC board which you can get for around £140 mark.

The i7 3770K and Motherboard should still fetch a good price if you decide to sell it on.

This link is also quite informative. Just be aware that it is a very very long read. It gives you 'component selections' further down the page.
