yes, and if the game can be played on different platforms ie linux and mac you can download and play them there aswell.

i have a question about games in steam it may be sound a little bit weird but when i buy games on my mac with my normal steam account that i can't play on the mac but on my windows pc its also possible to play them on my windows pc cause the games are only saved on you're account or ? also im just buying them in steam and im not downloading them ... then they obviously would be saved on my mac and on my account 

 

so i can download games on my windows pc that i buyed on my mac or

What? your post made no sense

 

Some games are cross compatible meaning if you buy the windows version you also get the mac version, some games have a seperate windows and mac version, and some games are windows only

OK, as long as you use your accounts, every game you buy you can play on any of your computer (mac, linux, windows, steam box) it doesn't matter.  I have bought games on my laptop and play them on my Desktop.
