GIGABYTE GTX 970 G1 Gaming @ CS:GO

alvez

Hello guys! :D

I was wondering if there are any CS:GO (Counter Strike Global Offensive) enthusiasts :P

I have 2 thing i really wanted to know since the tests i found on the internet where done while recording so thats not accurate..

I really wanted to know average fps for:

1920x1080 - ALL ON MAX SETTINGS

1024x768 - LOW settings all in low

if someone here can test it for me would be awesome since im going to buy this gtx next week :D

thanks

I'd bet well over 100fps for either test.

A GTX 970 is overkill for CS:GO

1024 all on low, will be predominantly determined by the CPU, not GPU. Pretty sure any midrange card can cause even a 4670K to choke on those settings.

And max settings, which actual CS:GO enthusiast gives two shits about graphics in that game.

i dont care about the graphics..i just want to know the results on those settings thats pretty much it, and btw my CPU is a i5 4690K @ 3.9Ghz, the reason i mainly care about the FPS IS :

i have a screen with 144HZ wich means + fps = more smoothness

I'd bet well over 100fps for either test.

I dont care if its a overkill to be honest, I will mainly play it but I will also play BF4 nd other stuff, but in this case i want to know on csgo.. and over 100 fps you can get that even wit a 50 € GPU..with a good cpu ofc.. :)

You can play 100fps on the iGPU of your 4690K. Not even joking. You just have to turn down everything to low, except for the resolution.

I play at 1024x768 on all low and use the command fps_max 0 in console with my gtx 760 and get 400 to 900 FPS the 970 is over kill for CS GO you'll be fine

Well, you asked a specific question so you get specific answers. If you aren't receiving the correct answers, maybe formulate the question more properly.

It's the same engine as HL2? In that case it's gonna be 250fps maxed out easily.

I can try it at home, it's the EVGA model though, not Gb.

It's the source engine, but not sure if it's the same engine revision.

would be really thankfull if you would to that to me, if possible, try it @ 1920x108 on max, and if you dont have that much time, just test it @ 1024x768 all on low settings :) thanks! :)

If you're going to take a 970, get another model. This one doesn't exactly shine in reviews. It's quite loud. Zotac AMP!, ASUS STRIX and MSI are doing a better job. Though i can't vouche for MSI, since they still use their PowerLogic fans, which gigabyte also uses btw.

That's because people like to copy eachother. MSI and Gigabyte both use Power Logic PLD10010S12HH fans. Which use cheap bearings and offer no dustprotection.

I'm trying to find which ASUS and the ZOTAC use, but they have a better track record of using FIRSTD or any other brand with dustfiltering.

Now if only reviewers in the west would use quality over quantity reviewing so i can easily find which fans they u....oh wait they don't. Browsing russian reviews...

to be honest any of those will be good for me either asus or msi or gigabyte.. the gigabyte one will let me with 3mm of the HDD bay.

the asus one is fine much less larger..

i will not OC.. :)

Here you go, that's atleast two of them.

You really don't care if one model uses cheap fans and the other doesn't? Even if you're not overclocking?

No thats not my point in here, i will not overclock but i want to get a good card overal, im doing this questions to you so i can understand what should i buy.

since this is a forum um tring to colect people opinions and know: "why is this bad" "why is it good" "why should i buy this" :)

im not good at this stuff otherwise i wouldnt ask questions, i know that they are good, but the specific things, i dont know...

1920x1080 maxed out:

Max: 301fps, min: 135fps, average: 295fps

1024x768 lowest settings:

Max: 301fps, min: 298fps, average: 299fps

Conclusion:

The cards is completely overkill for this engine, it makes no difference in terms of performance so you might as well play at 1920x1080 maxed out because 1024x768 low settings looks beyond shit and will effectively ruin your gaming experience.

thank you very much, you player in a server with many people or just like alone ? :)
