Water block and plate

Go to solution Solved by Tagiau,

Do I really need the back plate though?

The backplate is not needed, it is only for aesthetics. And actually if your current 980(or soon to be?) has a backplate, I see no reason why you can't continue to use it.

hey linus community I was wondering if the following water block came with a back plate http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=29154&cPath=880 if it dosnt can you list a back plate that would fit (btw I'm Aussie)

Thanks

That specific waterblock does not come with a backplate. However the company who manufactures it, EKWB, makes a specific backplate for it, it costs an extra 30$usd(not sure what it costs in australia)
