Do you think with the 980 being mostly focused for higher res monitors do you think we will see 6gb or 8gb editions of the 980 or will the 980 ti will have more vram?

I doubt it.  4 gigs is pushing it on a 256-bit bus, even with all the compression tricks that come with Maxwell architecture.

You don't get 6GB with a 256bit bus. We can only expect an 8GB version but it'd be pointless. There would be buyers for it though.

I'm betting against it. Perhaps an the GM210 chips we will see 6 or 8 GB but I think this is it for the GM204's

Nvidia has been known to use un-matched VRAM chips for their products.  They could release 6GB on a 256bus if they wanted to.
