Advice for my planned build

this build is for gaming and a little CAD work
Location: Philippines
CPU - Intel Pentium G3258
MB - Asus Z87I-PRO(still checking if there is still stocks on the store because it is on sale)

        MSI Z97i-AC (if the asus one is not on stock anymore) 
RAM - G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x4GB DDR3 2133 CL9
GPU - Sapphire R9-285
PSU - Thermaltake Evo Blue 2.0 80+ gold 650W
Casing - Bitfenix Prodigy mITX
HDD - WDC Caviar Black 500GB

the total of this is $800 (converted from Philippine peso)

any suggestions would be appreciated.

that's a pretty good build, nice job

 

i would try for the Z97 board though since it's more modern and leaves you a better upgrade path in Broadwell

Unless the memory is very close in price to 2x4GB DDR3-1600 CL9, it probably isn't worth the premium.

Hi there naokiJ0510,

 

According to this discussion – http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2194511/motherboard-buy-asus-z97i-msi-z97i-gaming.html there shouldn't be a significant difference between the two mobos in question in terms of gaming. I'd also support what PokémonTrainerFour said. In all, it looks great and I hope you'll have fun with your new rig.

If the 2133 memory kit cost more than a 1600 kit, the added cost is a "premium".

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
