I would suggest some Rosewill Hyperborea or Silverstone AP122, they are cheap and pretty effective. The Hyperborea is a 4pin fan while the Silverstone fan is a 3 pin.

Corsair Air flow and Static Pressure fans are great, there are also low-noise versions of the fans too.

That's debatable. Well, unless you're deaf.

Cougar Turbine (120+140), Akasa Apache/Rosewill Hyperborea (120+140), Enermax TwisterPressure (120), Enermax T.B. Vegas (120), Fractal Design R2 (120+140), Gelid Silent 14 (FN-PX14-12, 140)

With the exception of the Gelid fan, all are listed as $15 or less on Newegg. Good per fan price IMO.

I like the silverstone ap121's

never tried the 122 or the 123 so can't comment on those.

I can.

Ap122 is great for the price, especially when lubed.

Ap123 is great and silent.

I put 2 different types of fans in my build. I have Noctua NF-F12s on my rads, but I did Prolimatech Ultra Sleek Vortex 14 as normal case fans. The Prolimatech's were supposed to deliver great airflow, at only 18 dBA, but don't. They're quiet, but the Noctua's are quieter and deliver better airflow. Everytime I do something intense on my system, I kick myself for not getting all Noctuas.

If you want simple quiet fans (no leds and color rings and all that bling), I would recommend Fractal Design's Silent Series R2 fans. They are silent, gets the job done. Not the cheapest ones, but not overkill. Right now i believe you can get them with black or white fan blades. Also I think they come with "soft-mount" gear, if you're a silence freak that's a good deal.

I like its simplicity.
