Hi I'm looking for the best $200 headphones that are:

-Over ear

-decent build quality

-The bass is good but not overpowering

-7.1 audio

-Preferably has a built in mic but not required

-White

The headset will be used for both gaming and music. I'm thinking the new Siberia elites but I'm not sure.

I'd recommend the AKG k612 pro, they're ~150-200$ and really good.

My last headset had it and I loved it in my games.

If you were to buy a mid range headphone like the AKG k612, or dt990, you'd be even happier than with your old headset.

Most FPS games have a "headphone" setting, that does what your 7.1 headset was doing anyways, except with better quality since you have a better quality headphone to begin with.

Perhaps. My last headset was the Gamecom 780. While I enjoyed them a lot I want to upgrade to some true audiophile headphones that match my other gear.

I really recommend it, I went from Astro A50 to Audio technica ath-ad900x, and was really happy with the improvement.

The thing is, it doesn't just improve in games, it also improves in everything else, music, movies etc.

Since the 900x I've gone to Hifiman He-500, then to Audeze LCD-2, which are pretty much close to my "end game"

I would also highly recommend checking out the Sennheiser g4me one's. They are essentially a pair of 558's with an integrated mic. They have absolutely amazing sound quality and soundstage. They have a relatively flat response rate so you don't get thumpy bass, but the bass comes across as well balanced and clear.

or game zero if you want closed back headphones, which many people do http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-G4ME-ZERO-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00GWU8FAE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1413755137&sr=1-1&keywords=sennheiser+g4me+zero
