I am building a new rig and I was left out with a motherboard and a case (I can figure out later). So I want a z97 motherboard that is under 180$ which is compatible with my specifications below: I wanted to go with Z97 Gaming 5 but i could not decide.

CPU: i7 4790k

CPU Cooler:

GPU: MSI GAMING GTX 970 TWIN FROZR

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8 GB (2 x 4)

PSU: EVGA superNOVA NEX 80+ GOLD 750W

Note: All these listed above are planned to get overclocked to their full potential.

BTW, is Corsair Vengeance Pro a good choice or should I go with G.Skill Ripjaws X Series

if you are gaming an i7 is not necessary also your power supply is overkill unless you plan to go sli in the future you also need a hard drive or ssd replace the i7 with a ssd and get a hard drive to store your other games or programs that dont fit on the ssd

I am not only gaming i need the hyperthreading on the i7

So I need only 650W, and what about the memory

Look up the specs for the Gigabyte Z97XUD4H, The MSI Gaming 5, The ASUS Z97-A, and the ASRock Z97-Extreme6. Pick the one that has the features you want. NIC, extra USB3/SATA controllers, M.2, etc etc.

Also, some have better power delivery than others, but unless you're doing a super extreme overclock that shouldn't matter much to you.

For the build you're planning a 500W 80+ Bronze PSU is enough.

Memory wise go for 2X4 or 2X8 DDR3 2133 Cas9 to 11 depending on what you want to spend and how much RAM you need. If you're doing productivity like CAD, 3d modelling, rendering, video editing, heavy photoshop, etc, more than 8GB is suggested. For just gaming and normal use (MS Office, web browsing, downloading torrents, etc) 8GB is ok.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

This is the number 1 question asked by noobs. If it didn't support 2133 we wouldn't be recommending it.
