I think he means motherboard

Op, if you have any unoccupied SATA ports and a free hard drive slot, just shove it in to your desktop and transfer your files or format the drive and reuse it

Op, if you have any unoccupied SATA ports and a free hard drive slot, just shove it in to your desktop and transfer your files or format the drive and reuse it

I'm pretty sure the file format apple uses on their drives will not be accessible by windows, but he could try.

Worst case scenario he can format it and use it for storage on his PC.

I have a macbook pro that the motherboard died but I still have the hard drive to how do I move my data from it to my desktop. And are there any good ideas I could use this extra HDD for?

take the hdd from yout mackbook and plug it in to your desktop and you can use your hard driver as you wish
