Iphone 4 not responding to inputs

Hey guys, so today my trusty 4 year old Iphone4 stopped responding to any inputs. I forced a restart 2 times and it still won't respond. I was browsing safari when it happened. I would try a restore but since I have not backed it up in months I am worried about loosing important data. power was at 15% and plugged in. Any ideas?

If it has aged like that it's probably dead. 

You can try replacing the digitizer but repairing Apple products are nearly impossible.

You can try a restore but I doubt this is a "software" issue.

 

Just look for a replacement phone.

Update - I plugged it in for overnight just in case and about 10 minutes later the lock screen showed up, battery was at 25% and it worked like normal after that. No sign of anything else wrong. (*Knocks on wood*)

Im wondering if it could be another bug in apples software because since ios7 my phone has also had a habit of randomly shutting down anywhere between 30 and 0% battery and not turning on until i has been plugged in....
