Getting started with NVidia Surround - need some input

Go to solution Solved by Toddwjp,

Id be still playing at 1080p, not looking to go higher with my current gtx 770 sli setup, but you think that wouldn't be enough to push 3 monitors at 144hz? I'm still new when it comes to monitors and refresh rates

well refresh rate = your ideal framerate, so 144fps on surround is very difficult to drive.

So I am done for the most part on my new rig, and now am looking into getting an NVidia surround setup going, and I'm coming up with a couple questions that I'd like to throw at you guys - Choosing displays... on a budget

So I currently have an old Acer P244w, 24" screen, 2ms, TN panel, and using this (for now) to build off of. So choosing 2 more 24" monitors with 5ms or less with thin bezels

I am currently looking at getting 2 Benq GL2460HM 24" (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/benq-monitor-gl2460hm) monitors to use in conjunction with my Acer monitor as the center (will upgrade later)

What are your guys thoughts on something like this? The Benq's get my attention because of the price

get a vesa mount system to make sure are all the same height, and as long as it doesn't bother you much the monitors at the sides will probably have a slight colour shift,

Yea I was going to go with an ergo stand that has the 3 VESA mounts on them to ensure same height and everything. I don't know if I will mind the color shift between the sides and center, but if it is too bad, than I will just get a 3rd Benq

I haven't really heard anything negative about the benq monitors, almost wondering if a little extra is worth getting a 144hz refresh, then I know id have to upgrade the Acer too - I think I would be able to push the 144hz monitors with my current setup, Ive just never seen something at that high of a refresh rate on games to know if I would like it or not

triple 144hz would be very hard as sli/crossfire scaling is just well difficult, and i have 3 monitors with 2 being a different brand, after playing with the setting (god i hate monitor buttons) i would say there within 5% and i dont notice when gaming.

Oh I gotcha, yea I can push that in a lot of games right now, but that's a select few. Ok, so 60hz will be it, pretty much sold on them Benq monitors, thanks for clarifying for me!
