SSD advice plz.

Go to solution Solved by dizmo,

Anandtech has great SSD benchmarks that you can compare with one another. I'd head on over there and do some comparisons, then pick your drive.

Hi guys. I know that similar topics were posted here already, but I haven't found this particular SSDs. I'm new in the SSD area. I'd like to upgrade my desktop PC, so I want to buy an SSD. But I found problem. I don't know jack about SSDs and reviews aren't great help 'cause there's a LOT of them in the web and they often contradict each other. Maybe here I'll find some actual users that'll be able to help me. Im from Poland so I'll post prices in polish currency and dollars so you can see how big of a difference is between their prices. Around 50zl is a big difference in Poland.

I can't decide between those three:

Intel 250GB 530 Series (582 zl ~178 $)

Corsair 256GB LX Series (538zl ~ 163 $)

Plextor 256GB M6S Series (499zl ~ 151 $)

I'm going to have OS on the SSD along with some graphics programs, internet browsers and players like KMPlayer or foobar. Which one will be the best for me? Thanks for helping!

My experiences with SSD's is that specs don't usually matter, as long as you don't need a specific reading speed or writing speed within a nanosecond of a certain time. Look for something within your budget, and capacity.

System Specs:

Cpu: i5 4690k @ 4.40Ghz - Motherboard: Asrock Extreme6 z97. - GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 g1. - Memory: 16gig 2400mhz G.skill Ripjaw X . - Corsair H80i CPU Cooler. - PSU XFX 850watt . - 3x Sandisk SDDs. - 5 TB HDD.

I think I'll go with Corsair, because it has got better score than Plextor and Intel in read speed. It's worse in write speed, but I don't think that I'm gooing to notice difference between 300MB/s (corsair) and 450MB/s (other two). Now I'm working on Seagate HDD so the improvement will be drastic. I also like this black, brushed aluminium finish :D
