Is freesync worth the wait?

I am planning on getting a 144hz monitor but i am not sure whether to wait for freesync.... any recommendations? (i have a r9 290x)

I wouldn't cos firstly, there has not been even a working sample anywhere else other than the first reveal used on laptop screens...

I'd get the monitor could always get a freesync one later down the line if you really want one, but at 144hz which a 290x should be able to push pretty often or dang close

depends on the implementation it could be possible from something like Nvidia's Gsync module... or could be a firmware update... or could be impossible depends on the EXACT implementation.

AFAIK, you can't, cos you need a new scalar in your monitor.

I think we should all just wait for AMD's next generation of FreeSync, PaySync. :P JK
