If you have a free sata6 port, then get the Hitachi

Honestly, with the class drives that they are, they are both budget and your looking as similar performance

Never used a Samsung drive but have had tons of issues with Hitachi Travelstars. In fact my current NAS has these kind of drives in it now and it is always giving me headaches or I have to reset it weekly.....GO SAMSUNG lol

The Hitachi is (marginally) faster, but Samsung has better RMA statistics, meaning buying Samsung will land you with fewer lemons.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Do these statistics also include the number of drives sold? because hitachi sells more then samsung so naturally they will have more defects.

Both will have similar performance, the SATA port speed is NOT going to ever matter for a single laptop or desktop hard drive so don't base your purchase of whether it's SATA II or SATA III lol

Agree'd but he is comparing two bottom end drives and that is pretty much the only thing which would sway me between both of them
