Hey there,

(I am a bit of noob when it comes to software so go easy on me... :P )

Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Formula

CPU: Intel i7-3820

My CPU temps at idle are around 25-27 celsius (77-80 fahrenheit) and at load they never go over 60 -65 celsius (140-149 fahrenheit)

So the basis question here is: Can I overclock my processor?

If so, how? Any online guide which I can follow step by step or isn't it that easy?

PS: if you need more info on my rig, just tell me so and I'll throw 'em below!

Thanks in advance!

He could but it would need to be BLK overclocking as the multi is locked at x43.... highly not advised to OC this way so I wouldnt no.

Umm.. What is base clock? :D

Base clock means overclocking the actual FSB of the CPU. Usually it's 100, and along with multiplier the two is what determines clockspeed. So if multiplier is 30, 100x30=3000MHz aka 3GHz. With base clock of 125 and you'll have 125x30 = 3750MHz.

Base clock overclocking though takes quite a bit of skill as you also need to tweak things like RAM speed and such, honestly it's not worth it if you don't know what it is. 3820 is still a great performer at stock speeds
