Garageband Alternative

Hey everyone, I have just enrolled in a Music Composition and Technology class at my school and was wanting to work at home too, but we use Macs at school with Garageband and I only have a PC. So I was wondering, what would be the best alternative? Hopefully free? If not cheap if possible? Thanks everyone :)

cubase? fl studio? pro tools? none of them are free, but they have trial versions with some limitations...

I'd really rather not, I like Windows :P

 

You can dual boot it like i did. :P
