I need mic help!

Alright, so I own a Logitech G430 headset. It comes with a USB soundcard that allows (somewhat decent) 7.1 surround, or normal 2 plug jacks. Now my problem is that every time I start the computer, I can hear everything from the mic in my headset. I disabled every "listen to device", and have no clue what to do. I can temperarally fix it by changing the advanced format to something different (High quality CD to DVD or something) and it fixes the problem. This makes me think another program is using the mic, but what could cause that?

Do you have it plugged in via usb or the headphone and microphone jacks? if using the two jacks, are you plugging them into the front or back ports?

I use the USB adapter for the 7.1 surround sound.

 

Try using it without the usb adapter.

Use the MoBos own headphone mode, or download Razer's free surround software, or use a game's own surround mode if it has one.
