GTX Titan waterblock on a GTX 780?

Go to solution Solved by airdeano,

Hi guys.

I was trying to find a cheap waterblock for my GTX 780, and how some GTX Titan waterblocks fits on GTX 780s, I was wondering if this one would fit:

http://www.amazon.com/Aqua-Computer-Kryographics-Coverage-Backplate/dp/B00DC3RJ9C/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1413161070&sr=1-1&keywords=titan+water+block

Someone uses this waterblock? This would fit on my GPU? I have 2 EVGA GTX 780 ACX

Thanks

yes, it will fit.

on the nVidia side, most of the popular manufactures have comparable waterblocks.

be it from XSPC, EK, Aquacomputer, Koolance, Watercool all pretty much have slim

margin of errors in temperature control. http://www.xtremerigs.net/2013/10/03/nvidia-gtx780titan-water-block-roundup/

the one you have listed sounds "used" as new is $130+ be cautious.

I would personally only get an EK block, you are only saving a tiny amount compared to your system, and it probably won't perform as well and will be more likely to break. it will also probably have a worse warrenty.

If you're using a reference pcb then it'll work. Just don't use the thermal pads on the back plate if your block comes with them because the 780 doesn't have those memory chips on the back of the pcb like the titan.

i would not skimp on the Waterblock just get a EK waterblock they are about $130 for the 780's and its just way more reliable.
