I wasn't aware of that, I just thought that you could just play games on 4k. It's the same pixelation is it not?

BF4 multiplayer will run at ultra with no AA at over 60fps most of the time. I own DayZ too but haven't played it on this monitor.

But it wont over heat the CPU. The higher the resolution the lower the CPU load and higher the GPU load.

There doesn't seem to be any cpu load increase from 1440p to 4k, in my experience.
