Mozilla thunderbird can do the job I believe but setting it all up could be a bit of a hassle.

The Windows 8 mail app does all of that, and then some.

I use thunderbird on my desktop and the default mail app on my Surface. 

 

Both work well for my emails, Thunderbird I have both mu personal email and Uni email.

I assume adding Hotmail/Gmail etc is easy, but I've not had to do that yet.

The Windows 8 mail app does all of that, and then some.

Mozilla Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, or if you have Office then Outlook.
