File Sharing

Hello all, 

I have been having a ton of problems with my network/HDD's. I have, in the past been able to share entire HDD's across my home network to my boxee unit, and watch videos on my tv. Now all of a sudden I can't.
I have tried to re-share the drive, re-take ownership of it, and a few more things I thought might be messing it up. 
Not sure where to go now.

What OS is each device running, what switches and/or routers is it going through?

Windows 7 Ult 64bit for the computer doing the sharing connected through a wired to the router
I have one Belkin router that it would be going through.
And the reviving device is a D-Link Boxee Box connected wired to the router

your router has probably given the devices different ip address when they renewed.  if your share is based on ip then it will not be different.

 

try ping each other in cmd,

 

if its not that it will likely  be a firewall issue .

I have disabled my firewall, and as far as my ip address, I have released and renewed my own ip and given my boxee a new ip as well in hopes of a fresh connection.

I can share individual files but I have tb's of data I want shared...

Probably not. 

 

What software are you using to share the drive on the network?

I am using the windows share feature, not homegroup, just normal sharing.
I share the files with "Everyone" On the network and the boxee will see the folders, but not any individual files
