Help choosing a CPU!

I'm building my first PC soon for gaming/ video editing/ 3D animation and i'm a little bit stuck on the CPU. I've chosen the intel i7 4790k 4GHz Quad Core. BUT i've noticed for around the same price i can get an AMD CPU with more cores and just under the same GHz. Any help?

AMD CPUs are old and much less "powerful" (due to it being of very old architecture (2012)). If you want a cheaper CPU get the intel xeon 1231 v3, basically a i7 4790k which you can't overclock (not important anyway).

The i7 4790K will be better, GHz and Cores doesnt mean everything

Get the i7 4790K, it is undoubtedly better than the similar priced AMD options.

i7-4790k is similar/better than any AMD CPU for  gaming/ video editing/ 3D animation !
